Vergennes Commodores (Vergennes, VT) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Middlebury Tigers (Middlebury, VT), 44-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Vergennes upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Commodores travel to Mt. Abraham (Bristol, VT) to play the Eagles in a Lake bout on Friday, February 9. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Mt. Abraham won 44-41 in their recent non-league bout against Enosburg Falls (Enosburg Falls, VT)

Next up, the Tigers play the Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds (Swanton, VT) in a Lake bout, on Friday, February 9. Middlebury will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record.
