Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans (Chesapeake, VA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Bayside Marlins (Virginia Beach, VA), 70-58 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Veritas Collegiate Academy advances its record to 19-7 on the year. The Spartans travel to Norfolk Collegiate (Norfolk, VA) to face the Mighty Oaks in a non-league match on Monday, February 10. The Mighty Oaks enter the match with a record of 13-7. Norfolk Collegiate lost 59-49 in their recent league match against Steward (Richmond, VA)

The Marlins now own a 3-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to First Colonial for a Beach match on Tuesday, February 11. Bayside will face a Patriots squad coming off a 89-87 non-league loss to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (Suffolk, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 7-13.
