The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball crushed the visiting East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), 78-55 in Friday's league bout.

The Golden Lions now possess a 14-7 record. They play next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, February 11. Shelby will play a Gryphons team coming off a 68-47 non-league win over Greenville Hurricanes (Greenville, SC). The Gryphons record now stands at 17-5.

With the loss, East Gaston falls to 3-18 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Burns (Lawndale, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, February 11. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 16-5. Burns won 73-69 in their recent league bout against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)
