The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) and the host Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS), observed Northeast Lauderdale's basketball team knock off Leake Central by a score of 52-41.

The Trojans (18-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 16-8 record. In their last challenge, Itawamba Agricultural dropped by Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS), 73-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Gators battle the Tishomingo County Braves (Iuka, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 10. Leake Central will attempt to improve on its 12-17 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 25-1 record after their 73-34 league win over Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS).
