Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 31-23 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Owen upgrades its record to 7-7 on the year. The Warhorses host Madison (Marshall, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 11. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 2-8.

The Vikings now sport a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mitchell for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 11. Avery County will face a Mountaineers squad coming off a 41-39 non-league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 6-0.
