The Homestead Mustangs (Cupertino, CA) basketball edged the host Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA), 44-40 in Friday's league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 17-4 record. They play next when they host Fremont for a bout on Wednesday, February 12. Homestead will play a Firebirds team coming off a 53-44 league win over Saratoga (Saratoga, CA). The Firebirds record now stands at 6-9.
With the loss, Monta Vista falls to 16-3 on the campaign. The Matadors travel to Cupertino (Cupertino, CA) to play the Pioneers in a bout on Wednesday, February 12. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 0-12. Cupertino lost 45-24 in their recent league bout against Lynbrook (San Jose, CA)
