California High School Basketball - Homestead topped by Fremont

The Fremont Firebirds basketball team scored 60 points and restricted the host Homestead Mustangs to 49 in the Firebirds league victory on Thursday.

The Firebirds now sport a 18-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Santa Clara for a Santa Clara Valley - El Camino contest on Tuesday, February 13. Fremont will battle a Bruins team coming off a 62-34 league loss to Homestead (Cupertino, CA). The Bruins record now stands at 6-17.

The Mustangs (8-15) will now prepare for their contest against Monta Vista (Cupertino, CA). The Matadors come into the Santa Clara Valley - El Camino contest with a 10-13 record. In their last contest, Monta Vista dropped by Saratoga (Saratoga, CA), 53-47, in a league contest.
