Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Queen's Grant Stallions (Matthews, NC), 55-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Carolina International upgrades its record to 2-12 on the season. The Comets host Valor Preparatory Academy (Concord, NC) to clash with the Owls in a 1A Metro 8 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 2-13. Valor Preparatory Academy lost 64-23 in their recent non-league bout against Lee Park Prep (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Stallions clash with the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) in a 1A Metro 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Queen's Grant will attempt to upgrade on its 0-16 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 37-29 non-league loss to Bradford Prep (Charlotte, NC).
