The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN) and the visiting Faribault Falcons (Faribault, MN), witnessed Winona's ice hockey team defeat Faribault by a score of 8-1.

The Winhawks (10-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Mayo (Rochester, MN). The Spartans come into the Big 9 challenge with a 3-13 record. In their last challenge, Mayo was routed by Farmington (Farmington, MN), 7-0, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the Breck Mustangs (Minneapolis, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 10. Faribault will attempt to better on its 5-14 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 6-5 non-league win over Hopkins (Minnetonka, MN).
