Fort Cherry Rangers (McDonald, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Carlynton Cougars (Carnegie, PA), 42-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Fort Cherry upgrades its record to 17-3 on the campaign. The Rangers host Sto-Rox (McKees Rocks, PA) to play the Vikings in a WPIAL 2A 2 bout on Friday, February 11. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 11-6. Sto-Rox won 82-73 in their recent league bout against Northgate (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers (Houston, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 2 bout, on Friday, February 11. Carlynton will attempt to upgrade on its 16-2 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 59-38 league win over Burgettstown (Burgettstown, PA).
