Battle Mountain Longhorns (Battle Mountain, NV) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV), 39-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Battle Mountain upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Longhorns travel to Coral Academy of Science - Reno (Reno, NV) to play the Falcons in a 2A Northern bout on Friday, February 10. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 4-14. Coral Academy of Science - Reno lost 39-28 in their recent non-league bout against Sierra Lutheran (Carson City, NV)

Next up, the Mustangs play the West Wendover Wolverines (West Wendover, NV) in a 2A Northern bout, on Friday, February 10. Pershing County will attempt to upgrade on its 16-6 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 51-39 league loss to North Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA).
