The South Eugene Axe basketball team (Eugene, OR), was overwhelmed 59-16 in Thursday's league battle with the host Grants Pass Cavemen (Grants Pass, OR)
The Cavemen now possess a 13-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jesuit for a non-league battle on Friday, February 10. Grants Pass will confront a Crusaders team coming off a 53-19 league win over Mountainside (Beaverton, OR). The Crusaders record now stands at 17-2.
The Axe (3-17) will now prepare for their battle against Willamette (Eugene, OR). The Wolverines come into the 6A Southwest battle with a 15-5 record. In their last battle, Willamette trounced Roseburg (Roseburg, OR), 44-22, in a league battle.
