Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Archbishop Carroll Lions (Washington, DC), 71-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Gonzaga upgrades its record to 22-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) to play the Mustangs in a Washington Catholic bout on Sunday, February 11. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 15-10. Bishop McNamara won 94-72 in their recent league bout against The Heights (Potomac, MD)

Next up, the Lions play the Woodside Wolverines (Newport News, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 10. Archbishop Carroll will attempt to upgrade on its 16-12 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 19-1 record after their 79-55 league win over Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA).
