In Friday's league outing, the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) basketball squad felled the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), by a margin of 84-69.

The Bulldogs (14-8) will now prepare for their outing against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC). The Yellowjackets go into the 1A Big Smoky outing with a 11-12 record. In their last outing, Hayesville was beaten by Andrews (Andrews, NC), 66-57, in a league outing.

The Braves now own a 12-8 record. They play next when they host Robbinsville for a 1A Big Smoky outing on Tuesday, February 13. Cherokee will encounter a Black Knights squad coming off a 65-60 league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 16-5.
