Georgia High School Basketball - Clinch County nips Cook

February 9, 2024: Adel, GA 31620

Clinch County Panthers (Homerville, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cook Hornets (Adel, GA), 54-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Clinch County upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Lanier County (Lakeland, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a A D2 Region 2 bout on Saturday, February 10. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 20-4. Lanier County won 59-41 in their recent league bout against Echols County (Statenville, GA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) in a AA Region 1 bout, on Saturday, February 10. Cook will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Purple Hurricane come into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 46-30 league win over Jeff Davis (Hazlehurst, GA).
