North Carolina High School Basketball - Hoke County holds off Union Pines

February 9, 2024: Raeford, NC 28376

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC) and the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), saw Hoke County's basketball squad hold off Union Pines by a tally of 54-49.

With the victory, Hoke County improves its record to 14-8 on the campaign. The Bucks host Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to confront the Patriots in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 11-8. Pinecrest won 72-60 in their recent league challenge against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC)

Next up, the Vikings confront the Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, February 13. Union Pines will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 18-3 record after their 61-53 league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC).
