La Feria Lions (La Feria, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX), 44-41 in a league bout.

With the win, La Feria upgrades its record to 21-8 on the season. The Lions host Raymondville (Raymondville, TX) to play the Bearkats in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Monday, February 12. The Bearkats go into the bout with a record of 13-23. Raymondville lost 46-42 in their recent league bout against Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX)
