In Friday's league outing, the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX), by a margin of 87-56.

The Mustangs (24-9) will now prepare for their outing against Martin (Laredo, TX). The Tigers go into the 5A Region IV District 30 outing with a 16-15 record. In their last outing, Martin smashed Palmview (La Joya, TX), 50-48, in a league outing.

The Rattlers now own a 21-14 record. They play next when they travel to Palmview for a 5A Region IV District 30 outing on Tuesday, February 13. Rio Grande City will clash with a Lobos squad coming off a 50-48 league loss to Martin (Laredo, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 24-13.
