Van Buren County Eagles (Spencer, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Pittsburg Pirates (South Pittsburg, TN), 65-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Van Buren County upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Eagles travel to Gordonsville (Gordonsville, TN) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 10. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 14-10. Gordonsville won 79-69 in their recent league bout against Clarkrange (Clarkrange, TN)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks (Chattanooga, TN) in a Freelance bout, on Wednesday, February 14. South Pittsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 18-4 season record.
