Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad topple the host Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS), 45-36 in a non-league test.
The Cougars (23-10) will now prepare for their test against Brandon (Brandon, MS). The Bulldogs go into the 7A Region 3 test with a 13-13 record. In their last test, Brandon notched a victory over Pearl (Pearl, MS), 50-44, in a league test.
The Wildcats now own a 16-10 record. They play next when they host Harrison Central for a non-league test on Friday, February 16. Meridian will encounter a Red Rebels squad coming off a 55-38 league win over D'Iberville (D'Iberville, MS). The Red Rebels record now stands at 24-5.
