In Friday's non-league outing, the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), by a margin of 50-28.

The Patriots (6-7) will now prepare for their outing against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the non-league outing with a 15-1 record. In their last outing, Watauga smashed Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 43-25, in a non-league outing.

The Huskies now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they travel to South Caldwell for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 13. Ashe County will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 33-13 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 1-13.
