Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Brownsboro Bears (Brownsboro, TX), 7-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Hornets confront the Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region 2 District 14 challenge, on Tuesday, March 5. Athens will attempt to better on its 10-7 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 3-1 league loss to Van (Van, TX).

The Bears now have a 1-18 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bullard for a 4A Region 2 District 14 challenge on Friday, March 8. Brownsboro will confront a Panthers team coming off a 2-0 league win over Mineola (Mineola, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 10-4.
