West Virginia High School Basketball - Hoover holds off Winfield

March 1, 2025: Clendenin, WV 25071

The Hoover Huskies basketball team scored 58 points and limited the visiting Winfield Generals to 51 in the Huskies league triumph on Saturday.

The Huskies now possess a 17-4 record. They play next when they travel to Princeton for a non-league game on Friday, March 7. Hoover will confront a Tigers team coming off a 82-69 non-league win over Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Tigers record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, Winfield falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Generals host Nitro (Nitro, WV) to confront the Wildcats in a Cardinal game on Tuesday, March 4. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 15-6. Nitro lost 45-39 in their recent non-league game against Fairmont Senior (Fairmont, WV)
