The Northwest Vikings basketball squad (Grand Island, NE), was crushed 58-26 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Gretna East Griffins (Gretna, NE)

With the victory, Gretna East advances its record to 18-6 on the year. The Griffins travel to Pius X (Lincoln, NE) to meet the Thunderbolts in a non-league battle on Thursday, March 6. The Thunderbolts enter the battle with a record of 22-4. Pius X won 56-36 in their recent league battle against Elkhorn North (Elkhorn, NE)

The Vikings now own a 17-9 record.
