Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Shelby County Wildcats (Columbiana, AL) and the host Comer Tigers (Sylacauga, AL), witnessed Shelby County's softball squad prevail over Comer by a count of 9-0.
The Wildcats now sport a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Sylacauga for a 5A Area 8 match on Tuesday, March 15. Shelby County will face a Aggies squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Munford (Munford, AL). The Aggies record now stands at 5-5.
With the loss, Comer moves to 8-7 on the season. The Tigers travel to Winterboro (Alpine, AL) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Friday, March 11. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 2-2.
