Saraland Spartans (Saraland, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Leroy Bears (Leroy, AL), 11-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Montgomery for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 11. Saraland will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 10-3 league win over Theodore (Theodore, AL). The Vikings record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Leroy falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Bears travel to St. Michael Catholic (Fairhope, AL) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 11. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. St. Michael Catholic won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against McGill-Toolen (Mobile, AL)
