The South Johnston Trojans baseball team scored 22 runs and held the visiting Smithfield-Selma Spartans to 0 in the Trojans league win on Tuesday.
The Trojans now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Johnston for a non-league test on Thursday, March 13. South Johnston will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 9-8 non-league loss to Fike (Wilson, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 2-2.
With the defeat, Smithfield-Selma drops to 0-5 on the year. The Spartans host Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 12. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 1-4. Southeast Raleigh lost 21-0 in their recent league test against Cleveland (Clayton, NC)
