Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Valley Pirates (Sanders, AZ), 1-0 in a non-league match.
The Bears (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Santa Fe Indian (Santa Fe, NM). The Braves come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Santa Fe Indian was nipped by Goddard (Roswell, NM), 22-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Pirates confront the Ganado Hornets (Ganado, AZ) in a non-league match, on Monday, March 16. Valley will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Hornets come into the match with a 0-6 record after their 28-15 league loss to Tuba City (Tuba City, AZ).
