The Hough Huskies nipped the host Marvin Ridge Mavericks baseball squad by a score of 8-7 in Thursday's non-league outing.
Next up, the Huskies battle the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) in a Queen City 3A/4A outing, on Friday, March 14. Hough will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Vikings come into the outing with a 2-4 record after their 19-1 league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC).
The Mavericks (5-2) will now prepare for their outing against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates come into the Southern Carolina 4A outing with a 3-2 record. In their last outing, Porter Ridge was nudged by Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC), 5-2, in a non-league outing.
