Midway Raiders (Dunn, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Triton for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. Midway will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 17-2 league win over E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Triton falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Hawks host E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC) to battle the Golden Bulls in a All American 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 15. The Golden Bulls enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. E.E. Smith lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Triton (Erwin, NC)
