In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Grant Cougars (Dry Prong, LA) softball team overwhelmed the host Caldwell Parish Spartans (Columbia, LA), by a margin of 16-5.
With the triumph, Grant moves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Buckeye (Buckeye, LA) to play the Panthers in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 17. The Panthers come into the contest with a record of 2-3.
In their next game, the Spartans play the Jena Giants (Jena, LA) in a 3A District 3 contest, on Thursday, March 17. Caldwell Parish will attempt to move on its 3-10 season record. The Giants come into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 8-7 non-league loss to Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA).
