Saginaw Rough Riders (Saginaw, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Azle Hornets (Azle, TX), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Rough Riders now own a 8-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granbury for a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Saginaw will face a Pirates squad coming off a 13-3 league win over Rider (Wichita Falls, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Azle falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Hornets host Aledo (Aledo, TX) to face the Bearcats in a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 16-4. Aledo won 6-0 in their recent league challenge against Brewer (Fort Worth, TX)
