North Carolina High School Softball - Richlands holds off Topsail

March 16, 2022: Richlands, NC 28574

Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Northside - Jacksonville for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 18. Richlands will battle a Monarchs squad coming off a 22-0 league loss to D.H. Conley (Greenville, NC). The Monarchs record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Topsail falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC) to battle the Gators in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 17. The Gators enter the challenge with a record of 6-0. East Columbus won 18-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Green Sea Floyds (Green Sea, SC)
