The Independence Patriots the visiting Nicholas County Grizzlies softball squad by a final score of 2-0 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Patriots (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Grizzlies now possess a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to South Charleston for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 25.
