In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Salem Spartans baseball team scored a tight 3-1 victory over the James River Knights.
The Spartans (3-0) will now prepare for their game against Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA). The Patriots go into the River Ridge game with a 1-2 record.
The Knights (1-3) will now prepare for their game against Fleming (Roanoke, VA). The Colonels go into the non-league game with a 1-3 record. In their last game, Fleming tipped Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA), 14-13, in a non-league game.
