North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Black Hawks now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host T.C. Roberson for a The Mountain 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 18. North Buncombe will face a Rams squad coming off a 11-2 league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Rams record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Watauga falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Pioneers host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to face the Spartans in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. South Caldwell won 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC)
