The Sumter Fighting Gamecocks softball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting Socastee Braves to 4 in the Fighting Gamecocks league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Sumter moves its record to 4-5 on the year. The Fighting Gamecocks host St. James (Murrells Inlet, SC) to clash with the Sharks in a AAAAA Region 6 game on Monday, March 21. The Sharks come into the game with a record of 3-1. St. James won 15-6 in their recent league game against Conway (Conway, SC)

In their next game, the Braves clash with the Aynor Blue Jackets (Aynor, SC) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, March 22. Socastee will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record.
