Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the visiting Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw Shelby's soccer squad hold off Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy by a count of 3-2.
The Golden Lions (8-0) will now prepare for their battle against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Ironmen enter the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Cherryville tipped Burns (Lawndale, NC), 3-2, in a league battle.
Next up, the Gryphons battle the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle, on Tuesday, March 25. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Ironmen enter the battle with a 4-4 record after their 9-0 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC).
