Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), 2-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Shelby moves its record to 13-0 on the campaign. The Golden Lions travel to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to clash with the Cavaliers in a non-league test on Tuesday, April 8. The Cavaliers come into the test with a record of 4-9.
The Gryphons now sport a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cherryville for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test on Thursday, April 3. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will clash with a Ironmen team coming off a 9-0 league loss to Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Ironmen record now stands at 4-7.
