In Tuesday's league game, the host Topsail Pirates baseball team scored a tight 5-4 victory over the North Brunswick Scorpions.
The Pirates (4-3) will now prepare for their game against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars go into the Mideastern 3A/4A game with a 5-4 record. In their last game, South Brunswick was edged by J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC), 6-2, in a non-league game.
The Scorpions (4-2) will now prepare for their game against West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC). The Knights go into the non-league game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, West Bladen was edged by South Columbus (Tabor City, NC), 5-4, in a non-league game.
