Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX), 11-0 in a league challenge.

The Rangers now own a 17-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Boerne-Champion for a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Friday, March 22. Smithson Valley will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 13-2 league win over Pieper (San Antonio, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Canyon falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Cougars host Seguin (Seguin, TX) to battle the Matadors in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Friday, March 22. The Matadors enter the challenge with a record of 16-8. Seguin lost 16-9 in their recent league challenge against Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX)
