The Smithson Valley Rangers the host Canyon Cougars softball squad by a final score of 8-6 in Friday's league battle.

The Rangers (24-6) will now prepare for their battle against Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Chargers go into the 5A Region IV District 26 battle with a 11-11 record. In their last battle, Boerne-Champion held off Pieper (San Antonio, TX), 13-5, in a league battle.

The Cougars now possess a 12-9 record. They play next when they travel to Seguin for a 5A Region IV District 26 battle on Tuesday, April 16. Canyon will meet a Matadors squad coming off a 9-2 league win over Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 21-10.
