In Wednesday's non-league test, the Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) basketball squad got by the visiting Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV), by a score of 48-45.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the Chapmanville Regional Tigers (Chapmanville, WV) in a Freelance test, on Saturday, January 17. Nitro will attempt to improve on its 18-6 season record. The Tigers come into the test with a 15-8 record after their 47-46 non-league loss to Fairmont Senior (Fairmont, WV).
