Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Valley Buffalos (Orderville, UT), 53-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Piute upgrades its record to 20-5 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Wendover (Wendover, UT) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, March 3. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 17-6. Wendover won 70-65 in their recent non-league bout against Manila (Manila, UT)
