Southern Durham Spartans (Durham, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Hillside Hornets (Durham, NC), 24-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Durham School of the Arts for a Northern Lakes Athletic 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Southern Durham will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 24-4 league loss to Vance County (Henderson, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Hillside falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to East Chapel Hill (Chapel Hill, NC) to battle the Wildcats in a DAC-VII 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. East Chapel Hill lost 11-0 in their recent league challenge against Northern Durham (Durham, NC)
