Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), 4-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Laney moves its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to meet the Screaming Eagle in a Mideastern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 25. The Screaming Eagle come into the test with a record of 8-0. Ashley won 9-0 in their recent league test against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)

The Cougars now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host West Bladen for a non-league test on Monday, March 24. South Brunswick will meet a Knights team coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Knights record now stands at 1-6.
