Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), saw Laney's soccer squad knock off South Brunswick by a count of 3-0.

The Buccaneers (11-5) will now prepare for their battle against Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle enter the Mideastern 3A/4A battle with a 15-2 record. In their last battle, Ashley tipped West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC), 9-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Cougars battle the New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A battle, on Thursday, May 1. South Brunswick will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Wildcats enter the battle with a 2-12 record after their 4-0 league loss to Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
