Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 12-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Hoxie upgrades its record to 6-4 on the year. The Mustangs host East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR) to play the Warriors in a non-league game on Monday, March 31. The Warriors enter the game with a record of 6-2.

The Greyhounds now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Harrisburg for a 3A Region 3 game on Thursday, April 3.
