Philip Barbour Colts (Philippi, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Robert C. Byrd Eagles (Clarksburg, WV), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Colts now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Grafton for a Big Ten challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Philip Barbour will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 11-5 non-league loss to East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV). The Bearcats record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Robert C. Byrd falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV) to face the Indians in a Big Ten challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Bridgeport won 15-7 in their recent league challenge against Fairmont Senior (Fairmont, WV)
