North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.
The Vikings now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they host Elkin for a Northwest 1A challenge on Wednesday, March 22. North Stokes will battle a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 3-3.
With the loss, Alleghany falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to battle the Cardinals in a Northwest 1A challenge on Friday, March 24. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 6-2.
